# Refunds and returns

Users must be allowed to return products according to issuer and merchant terms of agreement. Once the return is received by the merchant, the plan total and all upcoming installments must be recalculated by the issuer and displayed to the user, any excess amount paid by the user must be refunded, and a notification should be sent to the user, alerting them about the changes.
