## Change 1 Introduction of Rate Limits {#change-1-introduction-of-rate-limits}

* Rate limits will be enforced for new TRID onboarding through the Batch Create Token Requestors API once the defined thresholds are reached.
* The API will return a new error reason code `USAGE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED` when a request exceeds the defined threshold limit. Refer to the [Code and Format](https://developer.mastercard.com/token-requestor-identifier-api/documentation/code-and-formats/index.md#api-error-reason-codes) section for details.

Note: There is no change in the API specification.

## Impact {#impact}

There is no impact to existing customers other than the introduction of a new error code for this use case. Going forward, the Batch Create Token Requestors API will operate with an application-level threshold. If customization is required, please contact the Digital Support team.
