### Mastercard Cross-Border Services enable various types of fund transfer {#mastercard-cross-border-services-enable-various-types-of-fund-transfer}

The Cross-Border Services APIs enable financial institutions and partners to build flexible cross-border payment solutions that support a wide range of funds transfer and payment types through a single integration with the Mastercard Cross-Border Services API suite.

For these transfers, the Originating Institution, a customer such as a bank, Money Transfer Operator (MTO), fintech, remittance provider, or other licensed non-bank financial institution, acts on behalf of the Sender, who initiates the payment.

Funds are transferred to a Receiving Institution, such as a payout partner, beneficiary bank, mobile wallet operator, or cash-out location, that holds the Recipient's account.

Depending on the transfer type, Senders and Recipients may include consumers, businesses, non-profit organizations, mobile money agents, and cash-out locations.
