## Overview {#overview}

The Mastercard Offers for Publishers API provides a set of calls for Publishers to implement an offers program in their digital channels. As a result, the offers program can drive top-of-wallet preference, promote spending, and increase engagement with merchant-funded offers.

The API provides endpoints for offer presentment, helping Publishers manage an end-to-end offers program across digital channels, including websites and mobile apps, using all capabilities available through the Offers for Publishers product.

### Initial partner setup {#initial-partner-setup}

### Participants {#participants}

* **Cardholder**: Eligible consumers in an offers program can redeem offers when they make qualifying purchases and meet the minimum offer threshold at their preferred merchants.
* **Publisher**: The entity responsible for making merchant offers available to cardholders through its offers program. This includes providing access to these offers through digital channels or interfaces, such as websites or mobile applications, where cardholders can view, access, and interact with the offers.
* **Offers for Publishers**: The REST API that processes HTTP requests for GET, PUT, and POST operations from the Publisher.

### Outcome of use {#outcome-of-use}

* Publishers can provide a premium offers program and decide which cardholders or consumers should participate in the program and receive personalized offers.
* Cardholders can view offers and offer details that are available to them, activate an offer, rate an offer and redeem offers.
* Cardholders can view their accumulated and potential savings.
* Operational and backend systems can retrieve all rewards and all the offers that were issued by the financial institution.
