## Overview {#overview}

For APIs configured with Plans, Mastercard Developers allows you to select a Plan at the time of requesting Production Access. This allows you to choose the type of billing that your implementation of this API will incur. Plans are different per API but typically include a Billable, Trial and Free tier.

The below steps outline how to select a Plan for an API.

## Step 1 - Start a production access request {#step-1---start-a-production-access-request}

1. Sign in to Mastercard Developers.
2. Open your project and click Request Production Access.
3. Choose the API(s) you need.
4. Complete the Service Details, if prompted.

## Step 2 - Select a plan {#step-2---select-a-plan}

1. For each plan-enabled service, review the available published plans --- tagline, description, and features.
   * If you selected multiple services, each has its own plan block.
   * No plan is pre-selected.
2. Select one plan per service.
3. Click Proceed.

Note: The Proceed button stays greyed out until every plan-enabled service has a plan selected.

4. Complete any requested service details, legal agreements and project credentials to complete the production access request.

## Step 3 - Track your plans {#step-3---track-your-plans}

1. In the left-hand menu of the project, click Plans.
2. Your subscription status starts as "Pending" until it is reviewed. ![Pending Plan](https://static.developer.mastercard.com/content/platform/img/plan-management-2.png)
3. Once your production access request is approved, the status of the plan will be updated to "Subscribed". ![Subscribed Plan](https://static.developer.mastercard.com/content/platform/img/plan-management-3.png)
4. You will also be able to see the Plan name on the Project Summary page. ![Plan Summary](https://static.developer.mastercard.com/content/platform/img/plan-management-4.png)

Note: Mastercard Developers will soon allow users to modify the plan they selected or select a plan for an already approved production access request.
