**The PAR platform v2023 June Release will introduce a new feature of PAR generation as part of PAR Inquiry API processing.**

PAR Inquiry API will be enhanced to generate PAR, if it does not already exist, and return PAR for incoming eligible and valid FPAN requests.

## Summary of Changes {#summary-of-changes}

Until now, PAR Inquiry API was returning PAR only if it was pre-generated through tokenization or other channels. With this release, PAR Inquiry API will be enhanced to generate PAR, if does not already exist, and return PAR for incoming eligible and valid FPAN requests. Eligible FPANs are Mastercard sponsored BINs as documented in [Overview](https://developer.mastercard.com/payment-account-reference-inquiry/documentation/index.md) section.

There is no update to the API specification.

## Impact {#impact}

There will be no impact to existing implementations. For all new and existing implementations, the PAR Inquiry API will generate and return the PAR value for incoming eligible FPANs that do not have PAR pre-generated.

### Mandate for Implementation {#mandate-for-implementation}

To ensure forward-compatibility, client implementations must be resilient to new elements being added to the API responses.
