# Test Profiles
source: https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/integration-and-testing/test-the-apis/index.md

On this page, you will learn how to use our test banks (FinBanks) and test payroll provider (FinPayroll). You will get access to a wide variety of profiles and data to test different types of use case scenarios.

Test profiles are enabled by starting a Mastercard Data Connect (Connect) session and by logging in with specific customer credentials. To understand how to create customers and Data Connect URLs, we recommend you read the [Quick Start Guide](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/quick-start-guide/index.md) first.

We provide the following personas and profiles:

## Test Personas {#test-personas}

When developing an Open Finance application, it is important to test your API integration with different types of users. This will help you ensure that your app works well for various scenarios and meets the needs and expectations of your target audience. To facilitate your testing process, we provide you with a set of testing personas. Each persona represents an example of a user who might use your app. These personas have different levels of income, access to different banking products, and realistic data.

You can use these personas to simulate different user journeys and interactions with your app. For example, you can test how your app handles authentication, consent, data sharing, payments, and other features. You can also compare the results and feedback from different personas to identify any issues or areas for improvement.

Below you will see five test personas. You can use these personas through the [Mastercard Data Connect Application](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/connect/index.md) to grant permission to access their accounts by following these steps:

1. Create a test customer.
2. Create and open a Data Connect URL.
3. Click **Next** to agree to the Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy.
4. Search for the bank specified for each test persona below (for example, **FinBank Profiles A**).
5. When asked for a username and password, use the username and password for each persona as shown below.

<br />

You can use **FinBank Profiles -- A** or **FinBank Profiles -- B** . Both function the same. This enables you to test scenarios where a customer has accounts located at different banks. For example, they could have their checking account at **FinBank Profiles A** and their savings account at **FinBank Profiles B**.

1. Create a test customer.
2. Create and open a Data Connect URL.
3. Click **Next** to agree to the Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy.
4. Search for **Finbank**.
5. Select any bank.

## Bank Account Profiles {#bank-account-profiles}

Bank account profiles consist of various combinations of account types, such as checking, savings, 401k, and more.

You can use **FinBank Profiles -- A** or **FinBank Profiles -- B**. Both function the same, so this enables you to test scenarios where one customer has two accounts located at a different bank.

1. Create a test customer.
2. Create and open a Data Connect URL.
3. Click **Next** to agree to the Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy.
4. Search for FinBank **FinBank Profiles -- A** or **FinBank Profiles -- B**.
5. When asked for a username and password, use user IDs and passwords from the table below.

Note about profiles:

* Profiles 2-8 were created from real financial institution data, but without personal identification information (PII).
* Profiles 2-9 are for general testing of our products.

## Payroll Profiles {#payroll-profiles}

Use these profiles to test products that contain payroll data.

1. Create a consumer with the SSN and DOB from the table below.
2. Launch the Data Connect experience.
3. For direct API payroll search experiences, enter the same SSN when prompted in the Data Connect experience.
4. For credentialed payroll login experiences, launch the credentialed payroll popup, search for the payroll provider you would like to test, and enter the payroll credentials below as prompted in the login experience.

Note: If you are using an [active customer](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/customer-records/index.md#active-customers) in your testing, rather than a [test customer](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/customer-records/index.md#test-customers), you should connect a payroll account through the **Platformtronic** test payroll provider. This guidance applies if you are using mortgage ecosystem platforms such as nCino or ICE for your testing.

## Paystub Profiles {#paystub-profiles}

Use these profiles to test Lend products that contain paystub data.

1. Download the relevant zip file to access a folder with a suite of test paystubs and use the paystub with the most recent (not future) date.
2. If you're using a product that contains paystub and bank data, make sure to connect a bank account through the **FinBank Profiles -- A** test institution and use one of the userId and password values from the table below.

Note: If you are using an [active customer](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/customer-records/index.md#active-customers) in your testing, rather than a [test customer](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/customer-records/index.md#test-customers), you should connect a bank account through the **FinBank Billable** (or **FinBank OAuth Billable**) test institution.

## MVS Profiles {#mvs-profiles}

Use these profiles to test Mortgage Verification Service (MVS) products.

1. Create a consumer with the SSN and DOB from the table below.
2. For direct API payroll search experience, enter the same SSN when prompted in the Data Connect experience.
3. For credentialed payroll login experiences, launch the credentialed payroll popup, search for the payroll provider you would like to test, and enter the payroll credentials as shown above in the [Payroll Profiles table](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/integration-and-testing/test-the-apis/index.md#payroll-profiles) when prompted in the login experience.
4. For products with paystub data, download the zip file to access a folder with a suite of test paystubs and use the paystub with the most recent (not future) date.
5. If you're using a product that contains paystub and bank data, make sure to connect a bank account through the **FinBank Profiles -- A** test institution and use one of the userId and password values from the table below.
6. The profiles with [GSE](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/glossary/index.md#government-sponsored-enterprise-gse) names listed have been set up to match Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae test profile requirements for end to end testing of GSE solutions.

Note: If you are using an [active customer](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/customer-records/index.md#active-customers) in your testing, rather than a [test customer](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/customer-records/index.md#test-customers), you should connect a bank account through the **FinBank Billable** (or **FinBank OAuth Billable**) test institution, and credentialed payroll accounts through the Platformtronic test payroll provider. This also applies if you are using mortgage ecosystem platforms such as nCino or ICE for your testing.

## Payment Success Indicator Profiles {#payment-success-indicator-profiles}

The profiles below have been set up to allow you to test responses for different Payment Success Indicator (PSI) scenarios. The profiles have different balances and account histories and will generate different PSI scores for different settlement amounts and settlement days.

These profiles will work with **Finbank Profiles - A**.

1. Create a test customer.
2. Create and open a [Data Connect URL](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/connect/index.md) (we recommend that you provide a webhook URL to Data Connect, so you can receive data about the customer bank account relating to the profile chosen in the Data Connect UI).
3. Search for **FinBank Profiles -- A** in the Data Connect UI.
4. When asked for a username and password, use usernames and passwords from the table below. Note that in each case the username and password are identical.
5. You can then use the account data captured by your webhook listener when you logged in using the test profile to obtain the necessary data to use in a PSI call (you will need the `customerId` and `accountId`, then you can try different values for `settlementAmount` and `settleByDate`.)

As an alternative to using a webhook, you can call [Get Customer Accounts](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/products/manage/account-aggregation/index.md) to find the appropriate account ID.

The following table lists the test profiles, their current balance, and the `scoreIndicator` value which will be returned when you specify a `settlementAmount` of either $10, $100, $1000, or more than $1000, in your PSI call.

## Transactions Profiles {#transactions-profiles}

Use these profiles to test scenarios involving transaction history, such as using [Recurring Transactions](https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/products/manage/recurring-transactions/index.md).

1. Create a test customer.
2. Create and open a Data Connect URL.
3. Search for a financial institution supported by the profile you want to use, for example **FinBank Profiles -- A**.
4. When prompted, enter the username and password from the table.

Note that you will need to contact your Mastercard account manager to enable **Finbank OAuth** if you want to use
the OAuth profiles.
