# API Request Authentication Issues

These errors occur when there's a problem with how the API request is being authenticated. This could be due to issues with the partnerID, secret, or appKey.

| **Common Causes**         | When you use an incorrect secret for more than 5 attempts, it can trigger security protocols that may lock your account to prevent unauthorized access.                                                           |
| **Troubleshooting Steps** | Your account (including your partnerId and secret associated with your integration) is locked due to security reasons as a result of multiple failed attempts. Contact customer support to unlock your account. ​ |
| **Retriable by End User** | No.                                                                                                                                                                                                               |
| **Access to Latest Data** | You cannot access any APIs until the issue is resolved.                                                                                                                                                           |
