# Onboarding Checklist

This guide outlines the end-to-end process, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and requirements for moving your Mastercard Send API integration from the Sandbox environment to Production.

The Mastercard Send API platform and services facilitate funds transfers and are intended for use by specific types of customers, see [Participants](https://developer.mastercard.com/mastercard-send/documentation/send-eligibility/#participants). Your implementation **must** involve an Originating Institution (OI), typically a licensed Mastercard acquirer or permitted issuer, whose responsibilities include:

* Managing the overall implementation.
* Registering itself (as an OI) and implementation partners for the required Mastercard Send Programs and services.
* The implemented solution's adherence to applicable Program standards and regulations.
* Settling the transactions that are initiated by the implemented solution with the Mastercard Send API services.

If you are not a Mastercard acquirer or issuer, or you do not partner with one, you will be unable to complete Mastercard Send onboarding and use the full APIs.

### Prerequisites {#prerequisites}

* You have completed initial integration and solution development with the Sandbox environment.
* You are clear about the intended implementation, including the API services, regions, and implementation partners involved.

## Step-by-Step Workflow {#step-by-step-workflow}

### 1. Registration and agreement {#1-registration-and-agreement}

Once you have completed Sandbox testing, you (as an acquirer/issuer), or the Mastercard acquirer/issuer with which you've partnered, can start Mastercard Send registration.

* **Artifacts needed:** The applicable Mastercard Send [registration forms](https://developer.mastercard.com/mastercard-send/documentation/send-eligibility/#registration-forms) and related Mastercard contracts.
* **Estimated duration:** Registration can take 2-4 weeks, but it can be longer depending on the entities being registered, the complexity of the enrollment, and the current volume of enrollment requests. Your Mastercard regional representative can advise.

This step is complete when the registration forms are approved by Mastercard. A Mastercard Delivery Manager and Customer Implementation Service (CIS) Implementation Manager will be assigned to your implementation project.

### 2. MTF (Mastercard Test Facility) testing and validation {#2-mtf-mastercard-test-facility-testing-and-validation}

When you have completed registration and are ready to test in MTF, contact your Mastercard Delivery Manager to [request MTF access](https://developer.mastercard.com/mastercard-send-person-to-person/documentation/quick-start-guide/index.md#step-5-request-mtf-access).

* **Artifacts needed:** Sandbox consumer key.
* **Estimated duration:** It can take 5-7 business days for Mastercard to configure the MTF environment for your keys. Mastercard will notify you when you can start making API calls to that environment.

Once access is granted, perform full API testing against the MTF environment. The CIS Implementation Manager will provide MTF test cases.

This step is complete when the CIS team has verified your MTF tests and issues a Testing Acknowledgment Notice (TAN) letter.

### 3. Technical promotion and Production enablement {#3-technical-promotion-and-production-enablement}

After successful MTF validation, [request Production access](https://developer.mastercard.com/mastercard-send-person-to-person/documentation/quick-start-guide/index.md#step-7-request-production-access-and-set-up-production-keys) in your Mastercard Developers project page and inform your Mastercard Delivery Manager you are ready for Production access.

* **Artifacts needed:** Production consumer key.
* **Estimated duration:** It can take 5-7 business days for Mastercard to configure the Production environment for your keys and approve your Production request. Mastercard will notify you when you can start making API calls to that environment.

Once access is granted, validate your implementation against the Production environment with end-to-end testing. Check that your Mastercard Send transactions appear in the [reconciliation reports](https://developer.mastercard.com/mastercard-send/documentation/reports/) and [Customer Portal](https://developer.mastercard.com/mastercard-send/documentation/customer-site/).

## Escalation Path {#escalation-path}

Your Mastercard Delivery Manager will monitor your project. If expected durations are exceeded or you encounter blockers during onboarding, please escalate to them.
