The Mastercard Gateway supports multiple payment capabilities that enable merchants and payment partners to handle different stages of the payment lifecycle. These capabilities cover transaction processing, payer authentication, and secure handling of payment details.

* **Payment initiation and processing**   

  Create and manage payment transactions such as purchases, authorizations, captures, refunds, and voids.

* **Payer authentication**   

  Perform payer authentication, including 3D Secure, as part of an online payment flow.

* **Payment session management**   

  Collect and reference payment details securely without exposing sensitive card data to merchant systems.

* **Tokenized and stored payments**   

  Reuse previously stored payment credentials for follow-up transactions or recurring payments.

* **Payment method handling**   

  Support card payments and other configured payment methods through a single gateway integration.
