# Program Enrollment and Directory Creation

## 4. Program Enrollment and Directory Creation {#4-program-enrollment-and-directory-creation}

After completing Sandbox testing for your project, you can enroll in one or more programs, create a directory, or do both, depending on your project requirements. These actions serve different purposes and can be completed independently or together.

* First, complete the certification process with your [Mastercard representative](https://developer.mastercard.com/mastercard-checkout-solutions/documentation/support/index.md#get-help).
* Mastercard will review your request and determine your eligibility.
* Please ensure that you have ordered the Production version of the Mastercard Checkout Solutions onboarding application from the MCC store. You can order and get access to the application irrespective of your certification process.

Onboarding application supports multiple types of enrollment, depending on the use case or program that you're enrolling into. Each program has different requirements, some require customer input, and some don't.
Note: Program enrollment and directory creation are separate actions in the Mastercard Checkout Solutions onboarding application. Depending on your project requirements, you can complete either action independently or complete both. Enroll in the required programs to enable program configurations in Production. Create a directory if your project requires a logical container to manage consumer credentials, program associations, and configuration settings. Refer to Sections 4.1 and 4.2 for the respective instructions.

### 4.1 Enroll a Program {#41-enroll-a-program}

#### Steps to Enroll a Program {#steps-to-enroll-a-program}

1. Access the Mastercard Checkout Solutions onboarding application from the **My Items** tab on Mastercard Connect.
2. The **Program enrollment** tab displays the programs available for your enrollment.
3. For the program you are enrolling in, click **Enroll Program** to initiate testing the program integration on the Program enrollment tab. For example, if you want to integrate to "Merchant Direct Model", click **Enroll Program** under the **Program enrollment** label in the **Merchant Direct Model** program tile.
4. Mastercard approves your program enrollment requests for the Production environment. Until approved, the status remains **Pending** . Once the program enrollment status changes to **Enrolled**, you can create a project for implementing these programs in your integration.

#### Program Enrollment Status {#program-enrollment-status}

| Program Enrollment Status |                                                                                                                               Description                                                                                                                                |
|---------------------------|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Pending                   | There are updates/approval pending for a program. You cannot add this program to a project until the update is completed. Even if the program was previously added to the project, it would cease to appear in the project details view unless the updates are accepted. |
| Enrolled                  | Program enrolled successfully. You can add this program in a project but not edit project name.                                                                                                                                                                          |
| Rejected                  | Mastercard did not approve the request. The **Note** contains the reason for rejection. You must work on the resolution and click **Resubmit** to initiate the program enrollment request.                                                                               |
| Canceled                  | Either the Integrator or Mastercard has cancelled the enrollment request. Click **Enroll Program** to initiate the program enrollment request again. You can also edit project name during resubmission.                                                                 |

### 4.2 Create a Directory {#42-create-a-directory}

A directory helps you manage consumer credentials, program associations, and configuration settings within Mastercard Checkout Solutions. Directories can be associated with Click to Pay program and used across projects during onboarding.

#### Steps to Create a Directory {#steps-to-create-a-directory}

1. 2. Enter the **Directory name** , **Description** , and **Support email addresses** . 3. Select the programs to associate with the directory:
   * **Click to Pay (C2P)** can be enabled if required.
4. Configure your directory details and program configurations.

6. Your directory request will be sent to the administrator for review. 7. Track the request status on the **Directory Management** page. Once approved, your directory can be associated with a project and used for credential management and program enablement.

### Directory Creation Status {#directory-creation-status}

| Directory Creation Status |                                                                               Description                                                                                |
|---------------------------|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Pending                   | Mastercard is yet to approve the directory. You can add it to a project once it's approved. You can cancel this directory until its status is 'Pending'.                 |
| Approved                  | Directory approved successfully, you can add it to a project.                                                                                                            |
| Rejected                  | Mastercard did not approve the request. The **Note** contains the reason for rejection. You must work on the resolution and select **Resubmit** to initiate the request. |
| Canceled                  | You have canceled the enrollment request. Select **Resubmit** to re-initiate the request. You can also edit the directory name during resubmission.                      |
