* The Mastercard {Pet Store} API provides a mock Pet Store service which follows [Mastercard's golden standards for API design and documentation](https://fusion.mastercard.int/confluence/display/GoldenAPI/Mastercard+Global+API+Standards+Document) and the best practices of REST and OpenAPI. Service owners should refer to Pet Store as a template when designing and on-boarding their own APIs.

### Onboarding {#onboarding}

* Firstly, please create an account on Mastercard Developers. Then sign in and proceed to 'Create new project'. Select a name and under 'Select your API service' select 'Mastercard {Pet Store} OAuth 1.0a API' and generate your Sandbox or Production keys. You will then receive an email from Mastercard Developers when your credentials are approved.

### Integration {#integration}

* You can see if a pet is available by filling the query field `status` with `AVAILABLE`.

### Policy {#policy}

* While there is no throttling policy, Mastercard reserves the right to limit user requests to preserve the reliability of the system.
* Yes, all the APIs are Payment Card Industry compliant.

### Performance {#performance}

* The average response time per endpoint is 0.45 seconds.
* The Throughput per Second (TPS) per customer is 12.570 KB/s.

* In the event that your team experiences issues, write to [API Consultancy \& Standards Support Team](mailto:API_Consultancy_and_Standards@mastercard.com), and outline the following:   

1. Email Subject: {Pet Store} API: Issue with (Describe Issue Here).
2. Body: Include details about the nature of the request, along with screenshots if possible to help expedite the resolution.
