Definitions of the terms and data concepts used across the ATM Locations API documentation, request payloads, and responses.

### Core terms {#core-terms}

| **ATM**                            | Automated Teller Machine that provides cash withdrawal and other banking services.                                                     |
| **ATM Locations API**              | Mastercard API that enables ATM search, location intelligence, network analysis, geographic lookups, and customer feedback collection. |
| **ATM Terminal ID**                | Unique identifier assigned to an ATM.                                                                                                  |
| **Access Fees**                    | Indicates whether an ATM charges a fee to domestic and/or international cardholders.                                                   |
| **Availability**                   | Indicates when an ATM is available for customer use.                                                                                   |
| **Country Code**                   | Three-letter ISO country code used to identify a country (for example, USA, CAN, GBR).                                                 |
| **Country Subdivision**            | State, province, territory, or other geographic subdivision within a country.                                                          |
| **Customer Feedback**              | Information submitted by customers regarding ATM-related issues or concerns.                                                           |
| **Distance**                       | Calculated distance between the search location and an ATM location.                                                                   |
| **Distance Unit**                  | Unit used to measure distance, such as miles or kilometers.                                                                            |
| **EMV**                            | Europay, Mastercard, and Visa chip-card technology standard used for secure payment transactions.                                      |
| **Geocoding**                      | Process of converting an address into geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude).                                                 |
| **Handicap Accessible**            | Indicates whether an ATM is accessible to individuals with disabilities.                                                               |
| **Latitude**                       | Geographic coordinate that specifies north-south position.                                                                             |
| **Longitude**                      | Geographic coordinate that specifies east-west position.                                                                               |
| **Location ID**                    | Unique identifier for an ATM location within the Mastercard ATM Locations database.                                                    |
| **Location Intelligence**          | Analysis and use of geographic information to support business and customer experiences.                                               |
| **Location Name**                  | Common name associated with an ATM location.                                                                                           |
| **Location Type**                  | Category of establishment where the ATM is located.                                                                                    |
| **Owner**                          | Organization that owns or operates the ATM.                                                                                            |
| **Point of Interest (POI)**        | Physical location that may be relevant to users, such as an ATM, bank, airport, or retail store.                                       |
| **Problem Code**                   | Standardized issue code used when submitting ATM customer feedback.                                                                    |
| **Radius Search**                  | Search that returns ATM locations within a specified distance from a search location.                                                  |
| **Route Transaction Number (RTN)** | Routing identifier associated with ATM transaction processing.                                                                         |
| **Search Location**                | Address or geographic coordinates used as the origin point for an ATM search.                                                          |
| **Shared Deposit**                 | Indicates whether an ATM participates in a shared deposit network.                                                                     |
| **Sponsor**                        | Financial institution or network sponsoring the ATM.                                                                                   |
| **Sponsor ICA**                    | Interbank Card Association (ICA) number associated with the ATM sponsor.                                                               |
| **Surcharge-Free Alliance (SFA)**  | Network arrangement allowing cardholders to use participating ATMs without surcharge fees.                                             |
| **Supports EMV**                   | Indicates whether the ATM supports EMV chip-card transactions.                                                                         |
