Follow the steps and onboard with Mastercard Click to Pay.

### Prerequisites {#prerequisites}

* Issuers need to implement requirements and best practices for the Mastercard Click to Pay Program. Refer to the **Issuer Requirements** section in [Mastercard Click to Pay Program Requirements](https://techdocs.mastercard.com/bundle/m_CPAES/page/agw1732540734327.html). Ensure you are logged into [Mastercard Connect](https://www.mastercardconnect.com/-/sign-in) to access the document.
* Issuers must enroll in [Mastercard Digital Enablement (MDES)](https://developer.mastercard.com/product/mdes/#financial-institutions) to activate payment cards to receive token requests from Mastercard Click to Pay.
* Issuers must onboard to Mastercard Click to Pay through the Onboarding and Registration Portal using [Mastercard Connect](https://www.mastercardconnect.com/-/sign-in) to obtain API keys.

## 1. Sign Up - Get Access to Mastercard Connect {#1-sign-up---get-access-to-mastercard-connect}

Issuers must be enrolled in [Mastercard Digital Enablement (MDES)](https://developer.mastercard.com/product/mdes/#financial-institutions) to activate cards to receive token requests from Mastercard Click to Pay.

To onboard as an Issuer, you need an account on [Mastercard Connect](https://www.mastercardconnect.com). Each user who needs access within your company should request access. The welcome screen on Mastercard Connect provides a link to the [Connect Sign Up Guide](https://www.mastercardconnect.com/business/public/content/dam/b2b/mcc/guides/Mastercard%20Connect%20Sign%20Up%20Guide.pdf) with full instructions detailing the sign-up process.

* The first time you sign in, you will be asked to reset your temporary password.

* If your organization already has accounts on Mastercard Connect, a member of your staff will have been nominated as your **Security Administrator**. This user is responsible for approving requests from other users in your organization. Your request for access to the Mastercard Checkout Solutions - Sandbox application will need to be approved by this person.

* If your organization is new to Mastercard Connect, you need to set up a **Security Administrator** account to approve requests on behalf of other users.

Tip: Contact your [Mastercard representative](https://developer.mastercard.com/issuer-enrollment/documentation/support/index.md#get-help) if you need help identifying your Security Administrator or signing up for Mastercard Connect.

![Sign up page](https://static.developer.mastercard.com/content/issuer-enrollment/img/login-experience.jpg)

Each user should create a User ID, set up a suitable password and provide two security questions and answers. Users also need to provide the Customer ID (CID) and Interbank Card Association (ICA) number, which can be obtained from the **My Company Manager** application in MC Connect.

## 2. Order the Application from the Store {#2-order-the-application-from-the-store}

1. Log in to [Mastercard Connect](https://www.mastercardconnect.com), go to the **Store** tab and search for the application **"Mastercard Checkout Solutions"**.

2. Locate the application and click the **Request Access** button. You will be presented with an Order Confirmation. You should then notify your company's Mastercard Connect Security Administrator and request that they approve access.

3. From the Order Confirmation, you can either print the order (for your records) or click **Track status** to view its progress. The application will appear on the **My Items** tab with an **Access pending** status label.

4. The Mastercard Checkout Solutions onboarding application will look like the following where a **Company ID** (CID) identifies a customer's unique legal identity.

![Mastercard Checkout Solutions Onboarding Application](https://static.developer.mastercard.com/content/issuer-enrollment/documentation/img/programenrollment_prod.png "Remote Commerce Application")
Note: After registering for [Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES)](https://techdocs.mastercard.com/bundle/m_MIIG/page/c_MIIG_IssuerEnablementActivities.html), and creating an account for [Mastercard Connect](https://www.mastercardconnect.com), ensure to always use the Sandbox environment to test the Enroll API, and before requesting access to Production.

## 3. Add Email Address to Receive Notifications {#3-add-email-address-to-receive-notifications}

You can sign up to receive email notifications about all company-level activities using the **Manage Notifications** button. Mastercard will email you regarding program enrollment in Sandbox and production as well as updates to the program settings made by users or Mastercard administrators.

On the **Program Management** tab, click the **Manage notifications** button.

![Add or update email address](https://static.developer.mastercard.com/content/issuer-enrollment/img/add-email-address.png)

You can add additional email addresses or edit the existing ones at any time.

If you do not add an email address, the first time you enroll in a program you will be asked to provide an email address.

## 4. Enroll Programs {#4-enroll-programs}

Once you finish testing in Sandbox for your intended project, you can enroll in Production.

* First, complete the certification process with your [Mastercard representative](https://developer.mastercard.com/issuer-enrollment/documentation/support/index.md#get-help).
* Mastercard will review your request and determine your eligibility.

<br />

Only after the certification process is completed, follow the steps below.

1. Access the application from the **My Items** tab on Mastercard Connect.

2. The Program Management tab displays the programs available for your enrollment.

3. Mastercard Checkout Solutions supports multiple program types of enrollment, depending on the use-case or program that you're enrolling into. Each program type has different requirements, some require customer input, while others do not. On the **Program Management** tab, click **Enroll** under Click to Pay program. Ignore all other programs as they are merchant specific.

4. Mastercard approves your program enrollment requests for the Production environment. Until approved, the status remains **Pending** . Once the program enrollment status changes to **Enrolled**, you can create a project for implementing these programs in your integration.

### Program Enrollment Status {#program-enrollment-status}

| Program Enrollment Status |                                                                                                                                Description                                                                                                                                |
|---------------------------|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Pending | There are updates/approvals pending for a program. You cannot add this program to a project until the update is completed. Even if the program was previously added to the project, it would cease to appear in the project details view unless the updates are accepted. |
| Enrolled | Program enrolled successfully. You can add this program to a project but not edit the project name. |
| Rejected | Mastercard did not approve the request. The **Note** contains the reason for rejection. You must work on the resolution and click **Resubmit** to initiate the program enrollment request. |
| Canceled | Either the Integrator or Mastercard has cancelled the enrollment request. Click **Enroll Program** to initiate the program enrollment request again. You can also edit project name during resubmission. |

## 5. Create a Project in Production {#5-create-a-project-in-production}

Once you have a test site working properly in Sandbox, you need to complete a certification process and receive required approvals from Mastercard. This is a required step to get approval on your project in Production. Your [Mastercard representative](https://developer.mastercard.com/issuer-enrollment/documentation/support/index.md#get-help) will guide you through this process.
Warning:

* The Production project will have no data from any of the Sandbox projects. A Production project will have a separate SRC Client ID and you will need to add/create new keys and upload your DPA data.

* The **Create project** button on the **Projects** tab is visible only after enrolling for a specific program on the **Program Enrollment** tab.

* By default, you can create one project in Production. Reach out to your [Mastercard representative](https://developer.mastercard.com/issuer-enrollment/documentation/support/index.md#get-help) if you would like to increase this number.

On the **Projects** tab, click **Create project** . Fill out the form and read the necessary requirements to create your first project. You can create a project only after enrolling for a specific program on the **Program Management** tab.

#### Information Required to Create a Production Project {#information-required-to-create-a-production-project}

To create a Production project, the following information is required:

* **Select the program** --- Select the Click to Pay program.

* **Project Name** --- The name of the project.

* **Description** --- A brief description of your project.

* **Notifications** --- Support email addresses receive notifications related to their project. These email addresses are used for support or troubleshooting. You can add up to 4 email addresses by clicking the **Add** button.

* **Requirements** --- You should be eligible to accept payment credentials in the payload response returned by Mastercard. Select the check box and click **Create** to create a Sandbox project.

![Create Project](https://static.developer.mastercard.com/content/issuer-enrollment/documentation/img/create_project_sandbox1.png)

Once you have created a project, you can edit the email addresses and other details related to the project on the **Edit** tab.

![Project Tab](https://static.developer.mastercard.com/content/issuer-enrollment/documentation/img/mcc_edit_project03.png)

The available Programs for each project are displayed on the **Program Management** tab.

#### Project Dashboard {#project-dashboard}

Once you've created a project, the Dashboard looks like this.
Alert: Issuers do not need DPA management. DPA references can be ignored.

![Project Dashboard](https://static.developer.mastercard.com/content/issuer-enrollment/documentation/img/issuer_onboarding_sandbox1.png)
Tip: Make a note of your SRC Client ID. You will need to pass it to Mastercard's Customer Integration Services (CIS) Team before starting the integration and you will also need to pass it in the API request.

## 6. Manage Keys {#6-manage-keys}

Create a new API Signing Key; you will need these to call the APIs in your Production project.
Note:

* If you've enrolled in more than one program, the keys in your Production project can be used to call the APIs of all the selected programs. For example, if your Production project has Click to Pay, Guest Checkout Tokenization, and Secure Card on File - On Behalf Of Merchant Model, the project keys will be valid for calling the APIs of all selected programs.

* If you have more than one project, you need to create distinct, separate keys for each project. The keys are **not** shared between projects.

For more information, refer to [Key Management](https://developer.mastercard.com/issuer-enrollment/documentation/tutorials-and-guides/key-management-click2pay-tutorial/index.md).

## 7. Test your integration in Production and go live {#7-test-your-integration-in-production-and-go-live}

Once you've created the keys, you can go live with your implementation.
