# Create a Sandbox Project

This guide walks through the steps required to create a new Identity Insights for Accounts project and how to gain access to the sandbox environment.

## Create a Project {#create-a-project}

1. To begin you should go to your dashboard, you can do this by clicking on the [My Projects](https://developer.mastercard.com/dashboard) option in the menu.
2. You can create a new project by clicking the **Create New Project** button, in the upper right portion of the screen. ![](https://static.developer.mastercard.com/content/identity-insights-for-accounts/uploads/create_project.png)

## Add Identity Insights for Accounts API to Your Project {#add-identity-insights-for-accounts-api-to-your-project}

1. Enter a descriptive name for your project in **Project name**.
2. Select **Identity Insights for Accounts** API from dropdown list.
3. Select **Commercial countries** from the list of countries.
4. Click **Proceed**.

## Configure Service details {#configure-service-details}

1. Add **Interbank Card Association number** , **company id** and country. The Mastercard assigned ICA is used for customer identification when sending a transaction to Mastercard Identity Insights for Accounts API. The ICA will also be used for billing of usage of Identity Insights for Accounts.

## Project credientials {#project-credientials}

1. Enter Certificate alias and Keystore passwords to generate the mTLS certificate in the browser
2. Click **Proceed** to obtain encryption keys.

**Note** : when "Skip this Step" is selected you will be redirected to Project dashboard. Select Sandbox under Credentials tab. Click on "Add certificate" or "Add a new certificate" to add the newly created certificate by following these instructions [Obtain Certificate](https://stage.developer.mastercard.com/platform/documentation/authentication/using-mtls-to-access-mastercard-apis/#1-getting-mtls-client-certificates-for-your-project) to Upload.

## Additional credientials {#additional-credientials}

1. Click **Create project**.
2. Click on **Download key file** to download and save the generated Key file.
3. Click **Open project**
4. Project summary will be displayed.
5. You can optionally choose to invite other people to your project by selecting the Team option. Invited members will have Read-only or Admin access to the project as granted.

**Note**: Please follow the below instructions to convert crt file to pfx file

* Go to Project Summary and Select "Sandbox" under credentials.
* Select the certificate created and click download.

* Once the certificate is downloaded in the crt format use the below command to convert the crt file to pfx file

  openssl pkcs12 -export -out certificate.pfx -inkey keyfile.key -in certificate.crt
