The Reference App provides a simple Java program that can make an API call to Offers Merchant Content in the sandbox environment. The sandbox environment is a testing environment that allows developers to test their applications without affecting real data or users. The production environment is the live environment where real transactions occur. It is important to thoroughly test your application in the sandbox before deploying it to production. You can do this by logging into your Mastercard Developers Account and navigating to "My Projects". From here, you can select your project and click "Request Production Access". Refer to the [detailed guide](https://developer.mastercard.com/eop-admin/documentation/tutorials-and-guides/index.md). The sandbox in Mastercard Developers is linked to the Mastercard Test Facility (MTF). You can perform full testing in the Sandbox before launching into Production environments. Offers Merchant Content supports OAuth 1.0a with RSA-SHA256 for secure authentication. Refer to the [API Basics](https://developer.mastercard.com/eop-admin/documentation/api-basics/index.md) page for details. The API supports standard HTTP methods such as GET, POST, and PUT, depending on the endpoint. A program can have offers that require "user activation" or offers that are "auto-activated". Auto-activation means that the offers are live as soon as they are assigned, and the cardholder can potentially redeem the offer upon receiving it. "User activated" offers means that some sort of cardholder action is required to make the offer live. The common HTTP error codes are listed in the [Codes and Formats](https://developer.mastercard.com/eop-admin/documentation/code-and-formats/index.md) section of the documentation. The [Reference App](https://developer.mastercard.com/eop-admin/documentation/reference-app/index.md) section explains how to create a simple Java program that can make an API call to Offers Merchant Content in a sandbox environment. The throttling policy for Offers Merchant Content limits clients to a maximum of 1500 requests per second. This ensures that the API remains stable and reliable even under high demand. The average response time for Offers Merchant Content is approximately 500 milliseconds, ensuring quick and efficient interactions for users. The Throughput per Second (TPS) per customer for Offers Merchant Content is 50 TPS, ensuring efficient handling of requests while maintaining performance and reliability. To sign up for the Offers Merchant Content service, you need to create a project on Mastercard Developers and generate sandbox credentials. Once you have the sandbox credentials, you can start testing the API.
