# Moments that matter

Once enabled, there are a few pivotal moments in the Digital Redemption experience. When thoughtfully addressed, these three critical touch points significantly enhance user satisfaction and encourage continued engagement.

We recommend highlighting the following three moments:

* discovery of Digital Redemptions
* displaying points prominently
* including the redemption value and points balance together

## Discovery {#discovery}

### Make Digital Redemption easily discoverable {#make-digital-redemption-easily-discoverable}

* Issuers should proactively inform users about participating merchants where points can be redeemed
* Both issuers and merchants can help drive awareness and increase engagement with timely and clear notifications
* Highlighting redemption opportunities not only increases conversion but also strengthens brand loyalty and encourages greater spending

### Display points prominently {#display-points-prominently}

* Show available points prominently in high-visibility areas such as the top-right corner of the landing page so users know their balance
* Use clear, consistent labeling (for example, "Points available" or "Redeemable points"), bold fonts and visual icons to draw attention to points
* Ensure users' point balances are accessible without needing to navigate through multiple menus---this reduces friction and increases awareness of their rewards total

## Display values in both points and currency {#display-values-in-both-points-and-currency}

* Clearly show users' redemption value alongside their point balance to help them immediately understand the practical benefit of their points. For example, display "pay $475 or 47,500 points" instead of just the point total.
* Displaying users' redemption value and point balance contextualizes the benefit, making it more tangible and motivates them to take action and redeem points.
