# Booking cancellation and refund

### User wants to cancel a hotel booking made with reward points {#user-wants-to-cancel-a-hotel-booking-made-with-reward-points}

If a user wants to cancel a hotel booking made using reward points, they begin by logging into their credit card issuer's rewards portal. From here, they select the Travel Partner chosen for the original booking and are securely redirected through single sign-on (SSO) to the Merchant partner's site.

Once on the Merchant's site, the user accesses the "All Trips" section, locates the specific booking, and then selects to "Modify/Cancel". After confirming the cancellation, the booking is successfully cancelled and the user's reward points are immediately credited back to their account.
