# Cash pickup locations

Use the [Cash Pickup API](https://developer.mastercard.com/cross-border-services/documentation/api-ref/value-added-services/cashpickup-api/index.md) when the Recipient will collect the Payment in cash and you need to identify eligible cash pickup options.

The Cash Pickup API supports three cash pickup types:

* **Pickup Anywhere**: The Recipient can collect cash from any available Receiving Service Provider location in the destination country.
* **Within Network**: The Recipient can collect cash from any location within a selected Receiving Service Provider network.
* **Directed**: The Recipient collects cash from one designated branch or retail location.

**Preconditions**

* You have opted in to the Cash Pickup API.
* Cash pickup is supported for the destination.
* You have the information required for the selected cash pickup type.

**Workflow**

1. The Customer selects the cash pickup type (Pickup Anywhere, Within Network or Directed) and requests eligible options from the [Cash Pickup API](https://developer.mastercard.com/cross-border-services/documentation/api-ref/value-added-services/cashpickup-api/index.md).
2. The Cash Pickup API resolves the eligible options for the selected pickup type.
3. The API returns either the eligible cash pickup countries, cities, Receiving Service Providers or locations when options are available, or an error when no options are available or the request is invalid. Use the response to present the available cash pickup options to the Sender.
