# Acronyms and terminologies
source: https://developer.mastercard.com/carbon-calculator-china/documentation/terminologies/index.md

The acronymns and terminologies provide definitions for the key terms most frequently used in the Mastercard Carbon Calculator:

### Customer logical name or Sender ID {#customer-logical-name-or-sender-id}

The Customer Logical Name is a unique identifier for the financial institution (issuer) that uses the service. Issuers need to have an existing logical address with their organization name in the alias part called customer logical name. The terms **Sender ID** , **logical address** , and **customer logical name** are used interchangeably.

It is used as an address when exchanging files through the Mastercard File Exchange (NGFT or GFT) service for file-based transaction scoring.

* For a GFT customer, the **Sender ID** is the [Endpoint](https://developer.mastercard.com/carbon-calculator-china/documentation/terminologies/index.md#endpoint). The Mastercard CIS Implementation Manager configures the Sender ID field with an endpoint provided by the customer. For example, 96184.
* For an NGFT customer, the **Sender ID** is the **customer logical name** or **logical address** that was configured in NGFT. For example, filebasedscoring@service_provider_name.

### Customer ID (CID) {#customer-id-cid}

The Customer ID (CID) is a unique identifier for a [service provider](https://developer.mastercard.com/carbon-calculator-china/documentation/terminologies/index.md#service-provider) that Mastercard assigns to an organization that registers as a Mastercard customer. It remains the same across all Mastercard systems. For example, 100262.

### Endpoint {#endpoint}

An endpoint is a value that represents a [logical address](https://developer.mastercard.com/carbon-calculator-china/documentation/terminologies/index.md#customer-logical-name). All Mastercard customers using file transfer are assigned at least one endpoint. For more details on an endpoint, refer to the [File Transfer Manual](https://trc-techresource.mastercard.com/r/bundle/m_fb_en-us/page/d/en-US/jfv1723730939965.html) on the [TRC](https://developer.mastercard.com/carbon-calculator-china/documentation/terminologies/index.md#technical-resource-center).

### Customer name {#customer-name}

The Customer Name is a name that you want to provide while creating your project. This does not have to be a legal name which is the name of the company or financial institution that displays in corporate registration documents and is used across all Mastercard systems. For example, ABC Bank.

### Service provider {#service-provider}

A service provider is a financial institution that uses the Mastercard Carbon Calculator services. For example, a bank, a merchant, a financial institution, or a third-party processor.

### Technical Resource Center {#technical-resource-center}

The Technical Resource Center (TRC) is Mastercard's primary portal for technical and operational documentation, accessed from Mastercard Connect. It is used by customers, partners, and internal teams to find product and system information.
