Real card accounts are the primary billing accounts used to process virtual payments. The real card account is the account to which a virtual account charges transactions. Authorized users can add, edit, and delete primary billing account information. | | Billing currency | The cardholder billing currency is an issuer-designated currency to which Mastercard® may convert the transaction amount. Issuers determine the eventual billing amount to cardholders. | | Commercial Event Notifications | The [Commercial Event Notifications](https://developer.mastercard.com/commercial-event-notifications/documentation/#how-it-works) service generates and delivers notifications for events of interest to subscribers in the area of commercial payments using virtual card numbers (VCNs). By subscribing to notifications, payment details are available as soon as the transaction takes place, allowing customers to take rapid follow-on action in accordance with the business processes. | | Commercial Portal Authentication and Entitlements (CPAE) | Mastercard's CPAE identity service. The CPAE solution provides authentication access and entitlements to all authenticated users of the Mastercard Commercial Portal application. It allows a unified onboarding from Smart Data. | | Currency code | The ISO 4217 currency code. CDFs enable users to add additional payment related information as part of the card generation process. | | Customer Implementation Services (CIS) | Mastercard's Customer Implementation Service team. | | Digital wallet | A digital wallet app, supported by providers such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. | | Funding source | A funding source allows users to separate the functions of a real card from the real card number. This allows users to replace lost or stolen real cards without re-mapping virtual cards or re-apply controls. | | GUID | A GUID (globally unique identifier) is a unique reference number in a 128-bit text string format that represents an identification (ID). The term UUID is also used. | | In Control™ for Commercial Payments (ICCP) | [In Control for Commercial Payments](https://developer.mastercard.com/product/in-control-for-commercial-payments) (ICCP). Virtual card platform that issues unique virtual cards in real-time with spend controls and remittance data. Creates virtual cards and transaction-level authorization controls, enabling companies to define how, where, and when employee accounts are used (for example invoices and expenses). Functionality includes: - Templates -Approval workflows -Reconciliation and matching data -Custom data fields -Invoice addenda -Global Data Repository links -Email generation | | In Control™ for Mobile Payments (ICMP) | In Control for Mobile Payments (ICMP) is part of the Mastercard In Control® Product Suite. It is an add-on option to In Control for Commercial Payments (ICCP). ICMP allows the deployment of virtual cards with the option to push provision to a digital wallet. Once the virtual card token is in the digital wallet, it enables end users to make contactless purchases at NFC-enabled points of sale. | | JSON Web Token (JWT) | JSON Web Token (JWT) is a compact URL-safe means of representing claims to be transferred between two parties. | | HTTP REST CRUD | HTTP methods for RESTful API or Web Service. These correspond to create, read, update, and delete (or CRUD) operations. | | MDES Digital Enablement API | [MDES](https://developer.mastercard.com/mdes-digital-enablement/documentation/) allows a merchant to tokenize Account PANs entered by consumers or existing Account PANs held on file, replacing each PAN with a unique MDES token (subject to issuer participation). These tokens can be used for e‑commerce and in-app transactions in the same way as Account PANs. | | Merchant | The merchant, in payment industry terms, can be any entity that: - Accepts a payment card for payment of goods and services - Agrees to comply with the standards of Mastercard (or other networks) and an acquirer, the financial institution responsible for processing the merchant's transactions. | | Merchant currency | A merchant currency is a currency that a merchant business uses, such as retail stores that offer their services to a cardholder. | | PCI data | The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) provides standards for the processes and systems merchants, and vendors use to protect information. This information includes cardholder data such as the cardholder's name, the primary account number, and the card's expiration date and security code. The PAN consists of a major industry identifier, issuer identifier, individual account identifier, and check digit. | | Real Cards (RCN) | Also known as an RCN, this is a card given to a company by an issuer that In Control can maintain for purchase requests. | | Spend control | Spend control is an algorithm that the Business Payment Controls API performs on authorization data. Some controls can be evaluated to be either positive or negative. Controls may have multiple parameters. The order of evaluation depends on the control order within the rule. | | UUID | A UUID (universally unique identifier) is a unique reference number in a 128-bit text string format that represents an identification (ID). The term GUID is also used. | | Virtual Card (VCN) | A virtual card number is a temporary card number that utilizes the credit limit of the funding account while keeping the actual card number concealed. |
