The following Tutorials and Guides provide more information. You must complete the following in the order listed.

1. Complete the Quick Start Guide
2. Generate a Mastercard API Client
3. Use Your Credentials
4. Activate the Mastercard Developers Client

## Complete the Quick Start Guide {#complete-the-quick-start-guide}

Getting started with Mastercard developers is easy. You just need an account, then you can begin accessing documentation, and creating projects. We have provided a [Quick Start Guide](https://developer.mastercard.com/platform/documentation/getting-started-with-mastercard-apis/quick-start-guide/) for you to follow.

While following the guide, ensure that you select the **BS Creditor API** option when creating your project.

## Generate a Mastercard API Client {#generate-a-mastercard-api-client}

You can use open source tools, such as the [OpenAPI Generator](https://openapi-generator.tech), in conjunction with the provided [API Reference](https://developer.mastercard.com/bs-creditor-api/documentation/api-reference/index.md), to generate an API client. When used with the provided [client authentication libraries](https://developer.mastercard.com/platform/documentation/security-and-authentication/using-oauth-1a-to-access-mastercard-apis/), this is an agile and powerful way to get started with real code to access the service.

We have provided a tutorial that walks you through how to generate a Mastercard API client that includes integrating with our provided libraries. For the step-by-step tutorial, see [Generating and Configuring a Mastercard API Client](https://developer.mastercard.com/platform/documentation/security-and-authentication/generating-and-configuring-a-mastercard-api-client/).

## Use Your Credentials {#use-your-credentials}

Your sandbox and production credentials are generated when you create a new Mastercard Developers project.

* Use the sandbox credentials (generated in step 1) to gain access to our [Sandbox environment](/documentation/api-basics/#Environment Domains) and use the [test data](https://developer.mastercard.com/bs-creditor-api/documentation/testing/index.md) to complete your testing.
* Use your generated credentials for the [Production environment](/documentation/api-basics/#Environment Domains) after your testing to begin using the BS Creditor API.

## Activate the Mastercard Developers Client {#activate-the-mastercard-developers-client}

Before the BS Creditor API can process requests from a creditor, it needs to verify the creditor's identity and agreement with Betalingsservice. Complete the steps listed in the [Activate the Mastercard Developers Client Using the MitID](https://developer.mastercard.com/bs-creditor-api/documentation/tutorials-and-guides/guide-1/index.md) section.

In case the MitID authentication is not possible or working, contact [Mastercard Customer Service](/documentation/support/#Contact Us) to activate the client ID using CSR.
