# Create a New Project

## What you will learn {#what-you-will-learn}

* How to create a new Benefit Allocation Service API project with OAuth.
* Obtain the keys required for the Sandbox environment.
* Get access to the Sandbox environment.

### Step 1 - Create a new API project {#step-1---create-a-new-api-project}

Once you are logged into [Mastercard Developers](https://developer.mastercard.com/), go to the My Projects section and click **Create New Project** in the upper right corner of the screen.

### Step 2 - Add the Benefit Allocations service(OAUTH) API {#step-2---add-the-benefit-allocations-serviceoauth-api}

Enter a descriptive name for your project

From the dropdown list, select **Benefit Allocation Service(OAUTH)** and then click **Continue**.

### Step 3 - Project Credentials {#step-3---project-credentials}

This page will generate the credentials necessary to access the service. The key alias will be visible from the project page under "Sandbox Credentials", however, make sure to store the keystore password in a safe place as you will not be able to view it later. This information cannot be changed later.

When ready click **Proceed**

### Step 4 - Additional Credentials {#step-4---additional-credentials}

Click on **create** to create your project and generate the client encryption key.

### Step 5 - Create project {#step-5---create-project}

Download the files and store them in a safe place. You can also download the client encryption key from the Sandbox credentials tab in your project dashboard, but this is the only time you'll be able to download the client verification key.

Once ready, click **Open Project**.

### Step 6 - Sandbox credentials {#step-6---sandbox-credentials}

To view the keys click **Sandbox Credentials** on the left menu of the project page.

Your client certificate will be at the top followed by your generated keys.

You now have the certificates for authentication and encryption to invoke the Benefit Allocation Service API in the Sandbox environment. Please contact your Mastercard representative or account manager to get test data and configure your API key on our platform.
