## Guides {#guides}

### Quick Start {#quick-start}

Getting started on Mastercard Developers is easy. You just need an account, then you can begin accessing documentation and creating projects. We have provided a [Quick Start Guide](https://developer.mastercard.com/benefit-allocations-service/documentation/quick-start-guide/index.md) for you to follow. While following the guide, ensure that you select **Benefit Allocation Service** when creating your project.

### API Key Onboarding {#api-key-onboarding}

Once you've created a project, reach out to your Mastercard Account Manager to associate ICAs with your Client ID. The Client ID can be found in your project's Summary tab. Keep in mind that the Client ID will vary between MTF and Production environments. It will be configured within Mastercard systems to grant access only to card numbers associated with the specified ICAs.

For full production-transition requirements, see the [Onboarding Checklist](https://developer.mastercard.com/benefit-allocations-service/documentation/tutorials-and-guides/onboarding-checklist/index.md).

### Generating a Mastercard API Client {#generating-a-mastercard-api-client}

You can use open source tools, such as the [OpenAPI Generator](https://openapi-generator.tech/), in conjunction with the provided [API Reference](https://developer.mastercard.com/benefit-allocations-service/documentation/api-reference/index.md), to generate an API client. When used with the provided [OAuth 1.0a authentication guidance](https://developer.mastercard.com/platform/documentation/security-and-authentication/using-oauth-1a-to-access-mastercard-apis/) and, where applicable, [client encryption libraries](https://developer.mastercard.com/platform/documentation/security-and-authentication/securing-sensitive-data-using-payload-encryption/#client-libraries), this is an agile and powerful way to get started with real code to access the service.

We have provided a tutorial that walks you through how to generate a Mastercard API client that includes integrating with our libraries. For the step-by-step tutorial, refer to [Generating and Configuring a Mastercard API Client](https://developer.mastercard.com/platform/documentation/security-and-authentication/generating-and-configuring-a-mastercard-api-client/).
